On February 17, 2022, a meeting of the Committee for Sustainable Mineral Resource Management was held (on-line).
Meeting agenda:
1. Opening the sitting.
2. Discussion on the Committee's activities and plans in 2022:
- Marking the activities of the Committee at an international conference Mineral deposits safeguarding as a basis of mineral raw materials safety, which will take place on May 10-11 this year. The representatives of the Committee will present the Committee's position with regard to possible solutions at the national level, also with regard to the proposed amendment to the geolological and mining law.
- In the first half of June: plenary session of the Committee under the working title: Issues of raw material security in Poland, at which the following thematic areas are planned to be addressed:

- The concept of strategic and critical raw materials - different views and various methodological approaches.
- Assessment of the current and possible future sources of supply for the Polish economy of mineral resources, including domestic primary and secondary sources, imports of raw materials and their conditions).
- Conditions and possible instruments for the protection of domestic sources of raw materials, taking into account not only mineral deposits, but also anthropogenic deposits.

III. Open plenary session organized at the annual conference Current and prospects for the management of mineral resources on: International (EU) raw materials projects.
Apart from the main topic, which would be taken up at the already defined Committee meetings, there are a number of topics that also require discussion, such as:
- Investments in the broadly understood raw materials sector,
- Coal as a chemical raw material,
- Investments in mineral resources abroad,
- Human resources for the management of mineral industries.
